This Privacy Policy describes how NuMama collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and services. By using the NuMama, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Email address
First name and last name
Location data (GPS), used to show you listings near you
Camera and photo access, for listing photos and profile pictures
Listings you post, and messages and photos you send in chat
Orders you place or receive, including the shipping address you enter at checkout
Your identity verification status — see “Identity Verification” below
A device token, if you turn on push notifications

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to operate and improve our NuMama, communicate with you, and provide support. We may also send you optional promotional emails if you have opted in to receive them.

Email Communications

We may send service-related or promotional emails to users who have opted in. You may unsubscribe at any time by following the link in the email.

Payments

NuMama processes in-app payments through Stripe. When you pay for an item, your card details go directly to Stripe — NuMama never sees or stores your card number. We keep a record of the order itself: what was bought, for how much, when, and the shipping address if the item is being posted to you.

Sellers who receive money set up a Stripe account through us. Stripe collects the bank and tax details it needs to pay them and to meet its own legal obligations. We receive only whether that account is able to accept payments and receive payouts — not the underlying details.

Some deals on NuMama are arranged in person and paid in cash. We are not involved in those payments and hold no record of the money changing hands.

Identity Verification

Before buying or being paid, you verify your identity through Stripe Identity. You photograph a government-issued ID, and in most states you also take a selfie so it can be matched to the photo on that ID.

Those images go to Stripe. NuMama never receives or stores your ID photos or your selfie. What we keep is the outcome: whether the check passed, when, a reference to the check itself, and whether it included a face match.

If you are in Illinois, Texas or Washington, the face match is switched off and no biometric identifier or face template is created. You verify with your document alone. This is deliberate: those states have specific biometric privacy laws, and we would rather run a slightly weaker check than create a face template we do not need.

Your Address and Other Users

Other users see your first name, last name, profile picture, general area (city and state), and whether your ID has been verified.

Your shipping address is not shown to a seller unless and until you have actually paid for an item they need to post to you. If an order is never paid for, or is cancelled or refunded, they do not see it.

Children’s Privacy

NuMama is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account — the app asks your date of birth at sign-up, and you cannot buy or be paid without verifying a government-issued ID. The app is about children’s things; it is not for children to use.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, email support@numama.shop and we will delete it.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA + CPRA)

California residents have the right to request access to, deletion of, or information about their personal data. We do not sell user data.

For users in the EU, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You may request access to or deletion of your data at any time.

CalOPPA Compliance

In compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), users can review and make changes to their personal information by contacting us.
